1) This photograph I took at the Channel Islands National Park was my most successful picture I took for this challenge. It is visually appealing, and therefore an excellent example of an aesthetically evaluative photograph.
The most difficult aspect of this challenge was to taking a descriptive photograph. While I did not have trouble thinking of examples of descriptive photos, I found that it was challenging to take a photo that was both interesting and descriptive to the viewer.
To create stronger images in the future I will take more photos outside to use more natural lighting in my photos. I will also get more familiar with each setting of my camera.
Hi Jade, nice photo! I noticed you used this image as an example of a theoretical photograph. I agree that this photo is very conceptual, however, I think this photo would also be a great example of both an aesthetically evaluative and interpretive photograph! I can appreciate the way you utilized the rule of thirds to add multiple layers to this photo. The landscape is beautiful and I love the way you captured many different colors and shades. One suggestion I have would be to continue exploring your camera's settings - I think modifying the exposure and contrast will help you continue to develop as a photographer! I am looking forward to more of your photographs in the future!

I really love this photograph that you took at the Channel Island National Park! It is a beautiful photo and very well shot. This location's scenic aspect is accentuated by the contrast between the deep blues seen in the background and the greenish-blue water in the middle ground of the photo. If i had any critiques, it would be to use a more clearly descriptive picture. I think this fits well, but it could easily fall into the category of being aesthetically evaluative. I also really like the contrast between the shade and the sunlit parts of this photo. This looks like an amazing place to take pictures!

This picture is a really great example of an aesthetically evaluative photo! The difference between the deeper blue color in the background of the picture and the greenish-blue color of the water in the mid-ground accentuates the picturesque quality at this location. Additionally, the angle of the photo (taken from above) also really helps to capture a wide view of the natural beauty of the water and mountains at Channel Islands National Park. Its a very serene picture. I also found the descriptive photo classification difficult, but I think the photo you used was also a good example. If I were to suggest anything to enhance this photo, I would say maybe to take it at a different…

This photo is exceptionally aesthetically pleasing, capturing the viewer's attention with the captivating color of the water, evoking a sense of tranquility and pure bliss. The angle at which the photograph was taken expertly showcases the various shades of blue present, seamlessly transitioning from the sky to the water. The mountains in the background enhance the tropical hue of the water, creating an overall serene atmosphere. The inclusion of diverse textures in the photograph serves to accentuate the myriad shades of green, blue, and brown, adding depth to the composition. To further enhance the visual impact, I would suggest exploring different angles when capturing this scenery. Experimenting with various perspectives could reveal even crisper details in the water's…

I think this is a fantastic image Saunders! I love how vibrant and radiant the water looks, and the light green color from the foliage compliments the water well. I also like the spot where you took the photo because you can see the bold mountain to the left as well as the mountains in the distance. I feel as though this created a great landscape to your photo, and it makes the image much more interesting. The lighting of the image is great too. The sunlight casting over the mountain allowing the vegetation and sea water to shine is a nice touch. My only suggestion would to take a picture a little further away so we can…

Hi Saunders, I love the photo! The shadow from the mountain onto the waters drew my eye especially. I agree that this photo is an aesthetically evaluative photograph. I love how the perspective of the photo is on top of the mountain looking down at the clear water. I appreciate the different textures and colors in the photo, it draws my eyes across the photo to all of the small details. One suggestion I would have is to take more photos at different distances because the mountain and the water both seem to be cut off at awkward angles. Other than that it is a great photo and I look forward to seeing other photos from you!
